About Edifire Magazine; Our Vision, Purpose and Plan

Vision: To minister the Love of God as we go forth calling on businesses and taking orders from our advertisers for each new quarterly issue of Edifire. We go out as customer representatives not knowing what is behind each door. Sometimes there is an opportunity to share Gospel. Often, there is a prayer needed and other times we are just there to spend extra time with a business owner to encourage them. We have seen a good number of believers that were not in fellowship, step back into a church life after finding out about new churches in the area that may interested them. Our vision is to serve the Lord and others while always pointing toward a personal relationship with Christ as the ultimate need and curing doze for every human being.

Purpose: We want to; “Encourage Christian believers toward a closer walk with Jesus”. The content of our articles and encouraging messages are always non-denominational in nature and we attempt to avoid divisive issues. We believe all of the basic tenants of the Christian faith and hold to them. We distribute Edifire wherever we can find a waiting room like; tire shops, engine oil change places, doctor’s offices and hospital waiting rooms, beauty salons, and more. We lead in each issue with an invitation to accept the Lord if the reader is not absolutely sure they have accepted Him into their heart and life. The gospel message is followed by a sinner’s prayer and readers are encouraged to find a Bible believing and Bible teaching church near them. We have a listing of most of the Christian churches in each area in the rear of the magazine with phone numbers. Another important purpose for Edifire is to put Christians in touch with Christian businesses. As we believers realize we are the family of God, it makes sense to many of us in these economic hard times to give other Christians a chance to earn our business. Just as the Camden Chamber of Commerce slogan goes “Keep it in Camden”, we are saying  “Keep it in the Body of Christ”. Churches depend on their membership making good incomes to support not only their families but God’s work with tithes, gifts and offerings. So, let’s give our brothers and sisters a chance to serve us and provide the goods and services that we need!

Our Plan: We would like to saturate the greater Jacksonville area and of the bedroom communities around it with our message while promoting the businesses of our advertisers and supporter’s. The Lighthouse 89.3 FM has a wide range of broadcasting; from south of Jacksonville to well above Brunswick and also quite a ways inland. We hope to establish a viable presence in all the local market areas. As the Lord leads, we plan to spread out more and more, while increasing the number our customer service representatives into all the local areas. We distribute Christian bookstores, secular bookstores, larger churches, and at special Christian events. The Edifire may also be read online by typing in edifire.net in your upper search bar.
